PATEROS HEALTH MIDWIFE, AMONG THE TOP 10 MIDWIVES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Miss. Eden T. Reyes (4th from the left), midwife III of Pateros is among the top ten midwives being honored during the midwives foundation of the Philippines midwives week celebration held last October 2-3, 2008, at the Quezon City Sports Club, Quezon City. It is the first time that a midwife coming from Pateros had been nominated. Ms. Reyes is currently the head of the family planning program of the municipality of Pateros which she holds from 1985 up to the present. Aside from the recognition, Ms. Reyes also received a cash incentive of 10,000.
PATEROS HEALTH OFFICE WON 1ST RUNNER-UP SANDUGO AWARD
The Pateros Health Department received again an award for its blood services program, garnering the 1st Runner-up in the MASIGASIG AWARD for local government unit, awarded by the department of health-center for health development for Metro Manila at the 7th Sandugo Regional Awarding and recognition ceremonies heald last July 25, 2008 at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City. The award has been given in recognition to the municipality of Pateros, being the smallest municipality, but conducted and collected many blood bags.
BARANGAY STO. ROSARIO-KANLURAN ADJUDGED AS THE MOST OUTSTANDING LUPON TAGAPAMAYAPA IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
Barangay Sto. Rosario-Kanluran of Pateros, Metro Manila was adjudged as this year’s Most Outstanding Lupon Tagapamayapa in the 1st Class Municipal Category in the National Capital Region.
The Regional Awarding Ceremony was held last October 10, 2008, during the grand celebration of the 20th Founding Anniversary of DILG-NCR at the Amoranto Performing Arts Center, Amoranto Complex, Quezon City.
The plaque of recognition and cash prize was handed by DILG Undersecretary for Special Constituency Relations, Eduardo R. Soliman, Jr., and received by no less than the Punong Barangay Purificacion Genova, Barangay Secretary Rollie M. Wagan and Lupon member Erlinda Yabut.
To give moral support to Barangay Sto. Rosario-Kanluran, Mayor Joey C. Medina witnessed the awarding together with the Liga President, Jap de Leon and Punong Barangay Luisito C. Castillo.
The commitment and dedication of Brgy. Sto. Rosario-Kanluran in the implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay Law truly exemplifies the efforts of the Punong Barangay and the lupon members in achieving excellence in local governance.
