Nobility is one trait that only few people can possess. One who had such was our beloved Vice Mayor Leocadio M. Perez. As a public servant in 1967 to 1971, he was dedicated to provide exceptional and honest service to his fellowmen. Yet, however dedicated he was to his work, his commitment as a husband and father was still the utmost priority of his lifetime. On 30 December 2009, on the very same day his idol, our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal was executed, Mr. Perez died of an unknown illness, which caused complications in his respiratory system. He was 78. He was buried on 3 January 2010 at the Garden of Memories in Pateros after a necrological service. Present were Mayor Joey Medina, Vice Mayor Jojo Sanchez, Administrator Adelio Domingo, several municipal councilors, Barangay Captains, Kagawads, municipal employees, his friends, and his relatives. The presence of God’s Holy Grace seemed present during the burial, as heaven accepted the soul of a great man: an achiever, the Pride of Pateros, and a devoted family man whose memory will be with us forever.
